In 2026, a shared Cappadocia sunrise balloon typically costs €70–€220 per person. On Skyway Travel’s live booking calendar (checked 22 August 2026), Göreme flights currently list from about €40 in winter to around €220 in September–October. Çat Valley lists €80–€179, Soğanlı €70–€119, and a private balloon is €4,500–€8,000 per basket. Ground watching is €15.

Those figures are not a brochure guess. They are the prices loaded on the same calendar guests use to book with us. They will move when weather, daily flight permissions or demand move. Confirm the date on the tour page before you pay.

Child rates, if any, are shown on the tour option — the numbers above are adult per-person prices unless the row says otherwise. Our shared flight is sold for ages 5 to 80. Children must be able to stand in the basket and follow a safety briefing. The experience is not recommended in pregnancy or with serious heart conditions, and it is not wheelchair accessible.

Prices by flight area

Cappadocia does not have one balloon price. The Civil Aviation morning slot is tied to a valley. The view, the crowd and the last-minute demand change with that valley. Safety rules do not.

Göreme — the expensive, iconic flight

This is the picture on every postcard: fairy chimneys, cave houses, and a sky that fills with baskets at first light. It is also the first option to sell out and the first to jump after a run of cancelled mornings.

On our 2026 calendar the spread is wide because some dates are still thinly loaded and some weeks are already in peak demand. The honest range for planning is €70–€220 per person. We do have a January listing at €38 and a handful of February dates from €40 — treat those as early-winter leftovers, not as the price you should expect in April.

Book the Göreme flight here: Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Tour Over Fairy Chimneys.

Çat Valley — same licence, usually a lower ticket

Çat is quieter. You still get a full sunrise flight and a licensed pilot. You do not get the densest Göreme chimney field. In the dates we have priced, Çat lists €80–€179. In April that was €80–€119; in September the calendar sits at €179.

Choose Çat when Göreme is sold out, when you want a calmer basket, or when the Göreme quote for your morning is €50+ higher for no extra inclusion you care about.

Soğanlı Valley — the value flight

Soğanlı is the option we load when guests want the flight more than the exact postcard. Listed range on our calendar: €70–€119. September and October are a flat €119; April and August dip to €70–€80 on some mornings.

It is still a legal Cappadocia balloon flight. It is not a “budget safety class”.

Month-by-month Göreme prices on our 2026 calendar

This is Göreme shared (standard option), not comfort class and not the reschedule-guaranteed ticket. “Listed range” means the prices we have actually put on sale for that month as of 22 August 2026. Months with only a few dated rows are marked.

MonthListed Göreme range (EUR)What the calendar is doing
Januaryfrom 38Very few dates priced so far
February40–110Winter, more weather risk
March65–200Shoulder; spread is wide
April45–200Demand jumps; early vs late dates differ
May99–209High season begins
June79–89Only a handful of dates loaded
Julyaround 129Limited dated inventory
August89–179Hot afternoons, still a sunrise flight
September169–219Peak. Book early
Octoberaround 199Peak. Book early
November69–79Better value, shorter days
December69–109Better value, more cancellations

If you can move your Cappadocia dates, November–March is where the shared ticket is cheapest and September–October plus late April–May is where you pay for certainty. For a month-by-month weather read, see best time for a Cappadocia balloon.

Private balloons and watching from the ground

A private flight is one basket for your group. We sell it per balloon. On the 2026 calendar:

MonthsPrivate balloon (EUR)
November4,500
June, July, August5,500
March, April, May, September7,000
October8,000

That is the whole aircraft, not a per-seat fare. Divide by your group size if you want a per-person comparison. Details: private Cappadocia balloon tour.

If you do not want to fly — children under the operator minimum, a tight budget, or a sold-out morning — the sunrise balloon-watching tour is €15 per person on every dated we have loaded for 2026. Hotel pickup, a viewpoint, and an audio guide. You stay on the ground.

Why the price moves from one morning to the next

Balloons in Cappadocia only fly when the morning briefing says they can. Wind, rain and low cloud cancel the slot. The number of balloons allowed over Göreme is also capped. When three mornings in a row cancel in April, the next clear sunrise is worth more. That is why our April Göreme column shows both €45 and €200.

The other lever is how early you book. Peak months (April–May, September–October) fill first. The reschedule-guaranteed Göreme option is already at €299 on many spring dates — you are paying to stay in the queue if the first morning dies.

None of this is a pricing trick unique to Skyway. It is how a weather-gated, permission-capped product behaves.

What the ticket includes — and what it does not

On Skyway’s Göreme / Çat / Soğanlı shared flight the listed price includes:

  • Hotel pickup and drop-off in the main Cappadocia hotel belt (Göreme, Ürgüp, Uçhisar, Avanos, Ortahisar and nearby)
  • Snacks before takeoff
  • A sunrise flight of about 40–65 minutes, weather permitting
  • Non-alcoholic champagne after landing
  • A commemorative flight certificate
  • A licensed pilot

Not included, and the two extras people forget to budget:

  • Souvenir photos and video — sold on site if you want them
  • Tips for the crew — optional, cash, after landing

Comfort class costs more because the basket is smaller and quieter. The reschedule-guaranteed Göreme ticket costs more because we keep you in the programme after a weather cancel. Read the option name before you pay. An offer far below that week’s Göreme number that “forgets” pickup or the certificate is not a bargain.

You can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before the local start time. Inside 24 hours the ticket is not refundable unless we cancel for weather — then you rebook or take a full refund. All cut-offs are Cappadocia local time.

How to read a price on our calendar

Open the balloon tour page, pick a date, and read the option name. “Göreme Valley”, “Çat Valley”, “Soğanlı Valley”, “Comfort Class” and “Rescheduled Guaranteed” are different products. The number next to the date is the live one. This article is the map of those numbers as they stood on 22 August 2026.

A few rows in January, June and July are still thinly loaded. A single January cell at €38 is not “the January price”. When we add more winter dates they will likely sit closer to the November–December band (€69–€109) than to that one leftover cell. If a month has only two or three dated prices, treat it as a signal, not as a season average.

Payment on the site is in EUR (TRY and USD are converted at the day’s rate). You can pay in full or leave a deposit and settle the rest before the morning. Bring the hotel name in English or Turkish the way it is written on Google Maps — that is what the driver searches at 04:30.

How to pay less without picking an unsafe flight

  1. Move the month if your dates are flexible. November–March is where our shared Göreme list is €69–€110 on most days, not €200.
  2. Change the valley before you change the operator. Soğanlı at €119 in October is the same legal product family as Göreme at €199 that month.
  3. Book the peak months early. September and October are already sitting at €169–€219 for Göreme on our calendar.
  4. Watch from the ground for €15 if the flight itself is the problem, not the sunrise.
  5. Say so if you cannot stay an extra night. Weather cancels happen. We would rather put you on a valley that can move than sell you a Göreme morning you cannot repeat.

Step-by-step checkout — date, hotel, deposit — is in how to book a Cappadocia balloon. Safety, pilots and what “licensed” means is in is the Cappadocia balloon safe?.

Is it worth the price?

If you came to Cappadocia for one morning, this is the morning. The ticket is not cheap in September. It is also not a museum queue you can fake with a viewpoint selfie. If €200 is too much, do not hunt a €40 Göreme “deal” from an unnamed driver. Take Soğanlı, take Çat, or take the €15 watching tour.

I would rather you fly a cheaper licensed valley than skip the sky entirely, and I would rather you skip the sky than get in an unlicensed basket.

What I would book for friends this week

If someone asked me tonight, this is the short version:

  • September or October, first visit, budget is not the issue: Göreme shared. Pay the €169–€219. That is the picture you came for.
  • Same months, but €200 feels wrong: Soğanlı at €119, or Çat if Göreme is gone. Still a licensed sunrise flight.
  • April or May and you cannot stay a spare morning: look at the reschedule-guaranteed Göreme option. It is expensive (€299 on many of our spring dates) because the first morning often dies.
  • November–March and you accept weather risk: shared Göreme in the €69–€110 band. Keep a spare sunrise in the hotel booking.
  • Kids under five, pregnancy, or a hard no on flying: the €15 watching tour. Do not argue with the age limit at 05:00 in a field.

I will not tell you a €40 Göreme “special” from a man in a lobby is the same product. If the number is far below the week on this page, ask who the operator is and what happens if the morning cancels.
